Bærinn stendur austan Vatnsdalsvegar vestari á hólbarði, sem gengur austur úr Vatnsdalshálsinum ofanundir dálitla tjörn - Helgavatnið. Gamalt tún er neðan vegar en nýræktir upp með hálshlíðina, ræktun er erfið. Engjar eru meðfram Vatnsdalsá, nú að mestu ábornar, en beitiland allvíðlent á álsinum og flói í dalbotni. Jörðin er fornbýli, getið í Vatnsdælu, gæti verið um tilfærslu og nafnbreytingu að ræða á Sleggjustöðum. Klausturjörð áður, nú um alllangt skeið bændaeign. Íbúðarhús byggt 1930, 389 m3. Fjós fyrir 26 gripi, mjólkurhús og haughús. Fjárhús yfir 300 fjár. Hesthús yfir 15 hross. Hlöður 1173 m3. Bílskúr. Tún 33 ha. Veiðiréttur í Vatnsdalsá og Helgavatnstjörn.
