History
Fríða, eins og hún var kölluð, var há og glæsileg og sérstaklega yndisleg kona, höfðingleg og yfirveguð í allri framkomu. Það var hátíð hjá okkur á Karlsskála þegar von var á Fríðu og Möggu Hemmert. Allri fjölskyldunni þótti skemmtilegt að fá þær í heimsókn, jafnt ungum semþeim eldri.
Hólmfríður var kennari að mennt, útskrifuð úr Kennaraskóla Íslands. Hún var farsæl í starfi, fljót að laða að sér unga fólkið og öllum þótti vænt um hana. Þær systur fóru báðar til Danmerkur til framhaldsnáms. Hólmfríður lærði þar talkennslu, en Margrét lærði tannsmíðar.
