Eftir lát Þorsteins Bjarnasonar 1937 þá ráku Sigríður dóttir hans og Konráð Diomedesson (d. 1955) Verslunina Val eða Konnabúð í Þorsteinshúsi fram yfir 1950 og síðan um skamma hríð í Helgafelli, handan götunnar, en síðar í öðru verslunarhúsi nær brekkunni (Aðalgötu 15). Sigríður rak síðan verslunina ásamt Kristjáni bróður sínum fram yfir 1960. Lára Bogey Finnbogadóttir var verslunarstjóri til ársins 1973.
