Neðan við bæinn Kolugil rennur Víðidalsá niður í stórbrotið gljúfur sem er á annan kílómeter að lengd og allt að 40-50 metra djúpt. Áin fellur í Kolugljúfur í tveimur tilkomumiklum fossum er nefnast Kolufossar og eru kenndir við tröllkonuna Kolu. Laut í vestanverðu gljúfrinu, rétt við brúna var svefnstaður skessunnar og kallast Kolurúm. Góðar gönguleiðir eru meðfram gilinu sitthvoru megin, fara verður þó með varúð og hætta sér ekki of nærri gilinu. Þvergil lokar leið að vestanverðu svo ekki er hægt að ganga hringleið niður á Víðidalsbrúna.
